The Joint Development Foundation provides legal and organizational infrastructure for groups developing technical specifications and standards. It operates within the Linux Foundation family and supports projects that need a formal structure for collaborative development.
C2PA is established as a Joint Development Foundation project. That relationship describes the coalition’s organizational framework; it does not make the foundation responsible for individual Content Credentials or implementations. We reference JDF to give context for how the standards effort is housed and governed.
